Couples Therapy

COMMON CONCERNS

Couples often seek support navigating challenges such as:

- Conflict resolution & communication barriers

- Emotional intimacy, trust, or infidelity

- Sexual dynamics or exploring open relationships

- Trauma, past abuse, or grief

- Life transitions (career shifts, separation, blended families)

- Neurodiversity, anxiety, or financial stress

- Cultural/racial identity and bicultural relationship dynamics

MODALITIES

My approach integrates evidence-based frameworks:

- The Developmental Model (relationship life cycle focus)

- Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFT) (attachment-theory based)

- The Gottman Method (communication and conflict management)

Session Structure:

Phase 1: Joint session to assess goals and dynamics.

Phase 2: Individual sessions (one per partner) to explore personal histories and needs.

Phase 3: Ongoing joint sessions, with occasional individual check-ins if beneficial to progress.

Individual Therapy

COMMON CONCERNS

Many clients explore themes similar to those in couples therapy, such as communication barriers, trust, or intimacy. Additional areas I support include:

- Emotional Well-being: Anxiety, depression, PTSD, anger management, and low self-esteem.

- Identity & Growth: Navigating life transitions, acculturation, spirituality, and self-discovery.

- Relational Dynamics: Family conflicts, relationship challenges, and boundary-setting.

- Performance & Purpose: Overcoming blocks in personal, creative, or professional realms.

MODALITIES

- Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT): Strengthening emotional awareness and relational patterns.

- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Focused on behavioral improvement, reframing unhelpful thoughts, and building practical coping strategies.

- Emotional Transformation Therapy (ETT): A color-based modality targeting rapid emotional and psychological shifts.

- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR): Trauma resolution through bilateral stimulation to reprocess distressing memories.

Session Structure:

Phase 1: Collaborative assessment of goals, challenges, and personal history.

Phase 2: Develop alternative beliefs, coping strategies, and actionable steps tailored to your needs.

Phase 3: Evaluate progress, refine tools, and adjust support to align with your evolving goals.

New couple? Engaged? Newly married? Deeply committed? This Essential Relationship (ER) package is premarital counseling. It is designed to build a strong foundation for your relationship and to learn essential skills to protect your future. You don't have to wait for problems to see a therapist.
